With 73 minutes on the clock, Liverpool thought they had taken a significant step towards beating Everton when Salah’s right-foot strike hit the back of the Toffees’ net.

Despite this, Jones would ruin his display from the bench against Everton as an incident after the full-time whistle would see the midfielder pick up a silly red card.

After the full-time whistle, Jones received a second yellow card alongside Abdoulaye Doucoure after the Liverpool star confronted the Everton midfielder for celebrating in front of fans of the Reds.

It was a moment Slot needed Jones to keep a cool head but the English talent will now miss Liverpool’s next match with Wolves on Sunday as a result of the red card.

This will be a big blow for the Reds boss as the midfielder’s role in Salah’s goal was the second Premier League match in a row Jones has had an impact for Liverpool off of the bench.
