Liverpool fans can look forward to watching Florian Wirtz in action on Sunday as Germany face France in the Nations League.
Wirtz is standing on the verge of completing a move to Anfield, with Reds supporters hopeful that Sunday’s appearance will be his final one as a Bayer Leverkusen player.
After losing against Portugal in the semi-final on Wednesday, it is not the match the Germans will have been hoping for this weekend.
However, a match-up with France is always a big one, and Liverpool fans will be watching on in the hopes of seeing a good match.
There is interest for the Reds in terms of the French team too, with Wirtz potentially facing up against future Liverpool teammate Ibrahima Konate.
As well as seeing whether Konate can improve on a poor performance in midweek, it is always a delight to watch Kylian Mbappe in full flow.
And ahead of coming head-to-head with Wirtz this weekend, Mbappe has given his seal of approval to the talent of the 22-year-old.

The latest on Liverpool’s record-breaking transfer is that Wirtz will have a medical next week before officially becoming a Red.
In the meantime, all and sundry have been giving their views on the German, with some opinions carrying far greater weight than others.

As one of the greatest players in the world, Mbappe is one of those worth listening to.
And, in quotes from RTL/ntv via Sky Germany, the Real Madrid and France superstar admitted that he enjoys watching Wirtz play.

“He is a top talent and I think Germany can consider itself lucky to have a player like him,” says Mbappe.
“I like him and I enjoy watching him play.
But he’s a really good player.”
There had been suggestions in some areas of the German press that Liverpool could pull out if Wirtz gets injured during Sunday’s third-place play-off.
As a result, there had perhaps been a feeling that Julian Nagelsmann may be better off resting the attacking midfielder in Stuttgart.
However, according to BILD, Wirtz is set to start for the Germans.
They even have him down as playing ‘a central role’ in the game.
Given the closeness at which his move to Liverpool is to going through, that would not seem like the wisest move from Nagelsmann.
So, while Reds fans may enjoy seeing their new man in action, they, and Leverkusen, will be desperately hoping he comes through unscathed.
