“I think Liverpool, is he going to play week-in, week-out, he’s shown enough that he can play at the highest level, he’s been at Chelsea before, he knows what it’s about about winning trophies,” Sidwell said.

“I think there’s a lot of moving parts.
The biggest thing is going to be in Palace’s court; they don’t want to lose him for free next season, they’re going to want to cash in, they have to cash in.
“They need to try and get as much money as possible, and that’s going to be who’s stumping up the most.
It looks like it’s going to be Liverpool that’s going to be in the driving seat at the moment.
“They haven’t really replaced Quansah, so they’re going to need a bit of strength in depth.
It’s going to be a huge season for Crystal Palace.”
As mentioned, even though Leoni is close to sealing his Anfield switch, there’s still room within Liverpool’s ranks to welcome a new centre-back to the mix.
Much like Guehi, Ibrahima Konate has also entered the final year of his deal with the club, and although the Reds want to extend his stay, there’s no harm in having three top-quality centre-backs to choose from.
Virgil van Dijk’s deal is only set to last two years, and upon the expiry of his contract, it’s unclear whether he’ll still be good enough to lead the Reds’ back four.
Of course, these are all just rumours and ideas at the moment, but if Liverpool do need to source a replacement for Konate or Van Dijk over the next couple of seasons, it’s unlikely that they’d do better than Guehi.
