Lucas Paqueta joined West Ham players who showed their support for Niclas Fullkrug following his latest message amid growing speculation over his future.

It has been a summer of change for Graham Potter, with new signings such as Callum Wilson and Malick El Hadji Diouf joining the Hammers, and so far, preparations have been positive.

West Ham concluded their pre-season with a draw against French side Lille, with Fullkrug scoring in three consecutive games for the club.

Despite this form, the German striker’s future remains uncertain, as West Ham are reportedly open to selling Fullkrug due to concerns over his fitness record.

Nevertheless, he has continued to impress in pre-season and sent a message to supporters, reflecting his determination and focus ahead of the new campaign.

Fullkrug posted on Instagram following the side’s win over Lille and despite the rumours, he seemed in a positive mood.

A positive way to end pre-season, now full focus on next weekend’s opener!”

The striker received plenty of encouragement from his teammates, with Alphonse Areola sending a heart emoji, while Paqueta and Wilson liked the post.

Despite his strong pre-season form, Football Insider has reported that West Ham remain concerned about Fullkrug’s long-term fitness, especially after he missed 28 games last season.

A key issue for Potter last term was the team’s lack of goals and attacking options.

Fullkrug struggled with injuries and managed just three goals following his move from Dortmund, which has fuelled speculation about a potential exit.

Although they have already signed Wilson, West Ham are reportedly targeting Sassuolo forward Andrea Pinamonti to bolster their attack, which could open the door for Fullkrug to leave.

While Paqueta showed support for Fullkrug and was recently cleared of spot-fixing allegations after an FA hearing, his future at the club remains uncertain.

Football Insider revealed on 8 August that West Ham are prepared to sell Paqueta and have placed a £45 million price tag on the midfielder.

Manchester City are among the clubs showing interest, along with teams from Saudi Arabia, meaning his future could be decided in the final weeks of the transfer window.
