Luis Diaz is still making headlines as his future at Liverpool remains uncertain.
Arne Slot still considers the Colombian a key part of his project heading into the upcoming season.
The Liverpool boss knows Diaz’s versatility in the forward line gives him multiple options.
The Dutchman used Diaz both as a left winger and a centre forward during the club’s title-winning 2024/25 season.
Diaz scored 17 goals for the Reds in all competitions last season — making it one of the best campaigns of his career.
The talks about his potential departure started last week after Saudi giants Al Nassr reportedly marked him as their top target for the summer, following Cristiano Ronaldo’s cryptic post that cast doubts on his future at the club.
Al Nassr might place a bid worth €85 million for the Colombian, as earlier reports have suggested.
Another club has also shortlisted Diaz as a top target this summer — and that is none other than La Liga champions Barcelona.
According to the latest reports by Ben Jacobs, the Spanish giant is currently out of the race as they feel they cannot place a bigger bid for him.
According to earlier reports (via The Times), Liverpool still considers Luis Diaz part of their plans for next season and is even preparing to offer him a new contract.
In this context, Luis Diaz has finally broken his silence and spoken about his future and the transfer rumours.

Diaz responded during a press conference with the national team:
“I’m very happy at Liverpool, I’ve always said it.
We’re talking with other clubs.”
He may be referring to Barcelona and Al Nassr, as these two clubs are currently interested in him.
He also added: “It’s the transfer window, it’s normal.
If Liverpool renews my contract, or if I have to stay the 2 years I have left, I’ll be happy.
It’s up to them.”
Luis Diaz’s current contract with Liverpool runs until the summer of 2027, as he mentioned in the press conference.
It looks like the 28-year-old forward is now focusing on national duty — and still has time to decide his future.
