The Luis Diaz transfer to Bayern Munich looks set to be officially completed this week.

The deal is thought to be worth €75 million (£65.5 million) including add-ons, with the Colombian set to sign a contract until 2029 at an annual salary of €14 million.

Bayern’s initial bid of €67.5 million (£58.6 million) was rejected by Liverpool, but the German champions returned with an improved offer that has now been accepted.

Eyebrows were raised when the Colombian was spotted in Japan with the squad despite widespread reports of a deal with the German giants being agreed.

Now James Pearce of the Athletic has eased concerns by reporting that the 28-year-old is on his way to complete the formalities of his transfer:

“Luis Diaz has said his goodbyes to LFC players and staff in Tokyo and is on his way to Munich.”
