Luis Diaz has revealed he held discussions with new Liverpool team-mate Florian Wirtz before taking the "gamble" to join Bayern Munich.
Diaz moved to the Bundesliga champions last month for £65million having spent three-and-a-half years at Anfield, where he won the Premier League, the FA Cup and two League Cups.
The 28-year-old already has one trophy in the bag with his new club after scoring for Bayern in their 2-1 German Super Cup win over Stuttgart on Saturday.
And Diaz was convinced to make the move after talking with Wirtz, who switched from Bundesliga side Bayer Leverkusen to Liverpool earlier in the summer.

"It was a big gamble and I'm very grateful to the management for reaching out to me and trusting me," said Diaz.
"It's always up to me to respond on the pitch and contribute with what I know how to do.
I had the opportunity to talk to Florian in Liverpool, and I know it's a physical league.

"I hope to have a great debut.
I've been here at the club for about two weeks, and I need time to settle in."
While celebrating his goal, Diaz paid tribute to former Liverpool team-mate Diogo Jota, who was killed alongside his brother Andre Silva in a car crash in northern Spain last month.
"It's brutal," said Diaz of Jota's passing.
"The fact that he's no longer with us and that we've lost an incredible team-mate is unbelievable.
