Diaz has made a blistering start to life in Germany.
He bagged the winner on his debut for Bayern as they defeated VfB Stuttgart to lift the Franz Beckenbauer Supercup.
The Colombian then followed up with a goal and two assists on his Bundesliga debut against RB Leipzig and now boasts four goals and two assists from his first six appearances for the Bavarians.
Diaz had looked to leave Liverpool in the summer of 2024, with Manchester City reportedly his preferred destination.
Man City reportedly proposed a swap deal for Julian Alvarez, but Liverpool rejected it and ruled out Diaz’s move to the Etihad.
Instead, he went on to register 17 goals and five assists for Slot’s side.
This summer, after failing to agree a new contract, Diaz once again pushed for an exit.
A lifelong Barcelona fan, he had long been linked with the Catalan giants, who even had an approach rejected by Liverpool in June.
However, Barca failed to return with a fresh offer, leaving the door open for Bayern Munich to secure his signature.
The Spanish side instead moved for Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford on loan.
Diaz has since revealed that he did hold talks with Barcelona and several other clubs, however, he insists he has no regrets about choosing Bayern.
“Colombians always support me.
So, nothing, just try to give my all.”
