Luis Diaz has been named Liverpool’s Standard Chartered Men’s Player of the Month for April.
This marks his first win of the 2023-24 season after securing the most votes in a fan poll on Liverpoolfc.com.
His stellar performances across eight appearances during the month earned him the accolade, with teammates Alexis Mac Allister and Cody Gakpo securing second and third place, respectively.
Diaz, who made seven starts throughout April, notably contributed to the team’s Premier League draw against Manchester United by finding the back of the net.
Collecting the trophy at the AXA Training Centre, the No.7 said: “Thank you very much.
I’m really happy and grateful to have received this award, which is so valuable to us players.
“I’m happy for the support of all the fans, knowing that they have been with me from the very moment I arrived until the last.
“They have always been super-attentive and supportive, not only of me but also of the institution, the team and I am very grateful to God for helping the team in this way.”
He added: “I’m contributing to the team, as I’ve always wanted to do, with goals, assists, playing well?
The team comes first before the individual.”
