Bayern Munich have completed the signing of Luis Díaz from Liverpool in a deal worth up to £65.5 million (€75 million).
The 28-year-old Colombian international has penned a four-year contract through 2029, becoming Bayern’s third major signing following Jonathan Tah and Tom Bischof.
The transfer represents a £22.5 million profit for Liverpool, who acquired Díaz from FC Porto for £37.5 million in January 2022.
Díaz had expressed his desire to leave Liverpool as early as summer 2024, with contract extension talks failing twice due to wage demands that significantly exceeded what Liverpool were willing to offer.
The winger was earning approximately £140,000 per week at Anfield but will now receive €14 million annually at Bayern – a sizeable increase.
Taking to Instagram, Luis Diaz penned a heartfelt farewell to everyone connected to Liverpool FC:
“Three years and a half that I’ll treasure forever.
