Luis Diaz has sparked fresh transfer speculation with his latest social media activity.

By now, all Liverpool fans are aware that Barcelona seems to flirt with Luis Diaz every summer transfer window since the Colombian arrived at Anfield.

Club president Joan Laporta has previously acknowledged that Barcelona considered signing Diaz during the January 2022 transfer window, but Liverpool ultimately secured his signature for €45 million.

“We had a conversation with his agent,” Laporta revealed in an interview with AS, explaining that “Liverpool were ahead of us” and “there was a moment when we considered signing him, but we still had to sort out the financial situation and they beat us to him.”

Speculation this summer was reignited when Barca sporting director Deco publicly confirmed the club’s interest in an interview: “We like Luis [Diaz], we like [Marcus] Rashford, and we like other players.”

Already, one can see that the Barcelona hierarchy are not scared to talk about the Colombian in public.

And it has now been revealed that Luis Diaz followed the official Barcelona Instagram page.

Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo confirmed that Diaz followed the account in recent days, and it’s not just a piece of news resurfacing.

What makes this Instagram activity particularly noteworthy is that Barcelona represents the only major club that Diaz follows on social media that he has never actually played for.

He follows, Barranquilla FC, Junior, Porto, and Liverpool, all clubs that he has played for – making Barca the only outlier.

It’s certainly a worrying development to say the least…
