Brentford winger Sergi Canos has opened up about his time training with the Liverpool first-team during Brendan Rodgers' spell in charge and the Spaniard was particularly impressed with Luis Suarez's work ethic.
"It was the first time I thought okay, this is Luis Suarez who is scoring goals every weekend, earning who knows how much, and he's training like this on a Monday?!
Luis was like: 'Maybe, maybe, I'll ask the physio'.
Canos joined Liverpool from Barcelona's academy in 2013 and regularly trained with the senior squad in Suarez's final season at Anfield.
"And Jose Enrique was like: 'Well it's Monday, don't train'.
In an interview with Goal, Canos recalled the first time he trained alongside Suarez, with the forward pushing through a foot injury to complete a session.
I was very good friends with Jose Enrique, and all the Spanish guys used to have breakfast together.
