Luis Suarez is one of many who wished Darwin Nunez a happy 26th birthday, with the Liverpool striker thanking his 'idol' in return.
Just as the Reds' former Uruguayan striker did in 2014, the current one could potentially leave the club during the summer transfer window having allegedly decided to join Napoli.
Nunez's relationship with Suarez has always been strong, with the 38-year-old Inter Miami star often at the front of the queue of those supporting Liverpool's No.9 through his toughest periods.
Always trusting in yourself," he commented on an Instagram post back in February as Nunez was midway through the 2024/25 season, in which he returned only seven goals in total.
Now, Suarez has been spotted again on the social media channel congratulating his fellow Uruguayan on his 26th birthday.

"Happy birthday my dear FRIEND!

Nunez replied: "@luissuarez9 thank you so much idol [red heart emoji]."

This was the same birthday post in which Nunez had revealed a drastic change to his looks.
After three years at Liverpool sporting long, flowing black locks of hair, the striker has shaved his hair short all over ahead of the 2025/26 campaign.
The question only remains if next season he will be wearing the colours of Liverpool or of another club.
Having last started for Arne Slot's side at the start of March, the 26-year-old's place at the club has been in question long before the summer transfer window became active.
In fact, it all started when Saudi Arabian outfit Al-Nassr saw an approach rejected during the January window.
The Reds did not wish to sell amid their push for the Premier League title though their stance is expected to soften should a suitor come knocking any time soon.
With it said Nunez wishes to remain in Europe with one eye on making his national team's squad for next summer's FIFA World Cup, Serie A champions Napoli have been the club most heavily linked in recent times.
The ECHO reported earlier this month, Napoli, AC Milan and Atletico Madrid are all tracking the Uruguay international this summer.
Meanwhile in a fresh update, Fabrizio Romano has reported on X, formerly known as Twitter, that Napoli are in "direct contact" with Liverpool over signing Nunez.
Former midfielder for Uruguay and the Italian club, Walter Gargano, has freshly claimed that in a private conversation with Nunez, Liverpool's stiker has said he is waiting to make the move.
"I told him; 'Go to Naples!'.
