Luis Suarez has urged Darwin Nunez to stay positive after the Liverpool striker was subjected to online abuse.
The 24-year-old deleted all but one of his Liverpool-related Instagram images on Sunday, leading to speculation about his future with the club, and also blocked a number of Reds fan accounts on Twitter.
His actions on social media are believed to be in response to online abuse, with the Uruguayan currently enduring a time time for Jurgen Klopp’s side as their Premier League title challenge unravelled.
Nunez did break his social media silence to pay tribute to Suarez on Tuesday after the Liverpool icon celebrated scoring his 500th club goal.

Replying to his Uruguay team-mate’s initial post, Nunez replied: ‘Idolo (idol)' followed by the heart-eyes and tensed bicep emojis.
Suarez has now replied to the Liverpool striker, thanking him for his message.
And off the back of online abuse, he also encouraged him to remain positive and look to the future.
Replying in Spanish, his message translated to: “Thank you scorer for always being there!
Always remember POSITIVE and looking forward!” and was accompanied by a fist pump emoji and Uruguay flag.
Nunez has scored just once from his last 11 appearances for Liverpool, with that strike in question inadvertently going in off his backside when closing down the goalkeeper against Sheffield United.
