Jamie Carragher told CBS Sport on Paramount + (06/04/21 at 10:45 pm) that Thiago ‘made a difference’ for Liverpool during their defeat against Real Madrid.
The Barcelona academy product didn’t start the first leg showdown in Spain, but it wasn’t too long before he was introduced into the fold.

Jurgen Klopp opted to start Naby Keita in the middle of the park, but with Liverpool 2-0 down, he only lasted 42 minutes and that’s when Thiago was introduced.
After a pretty abject first 45 minutes, things did pick up for the away side after the break, but it wasn’t enough.
Nonetheless, Carragher shared his brief thoughts on Thiago’s display, as he understands the reasons for him not starting.
“I felt when Thiago came on he made a difference,” said Carragher.
“(But) I could understand why he didn’t start because of Kroos and Modric and their energy.”

It will be interesting if Thiago starts next Wednesday at Anfield because his forward-thinking quality will be needed.
Liverpool are perhaps better off going with all four of their attackers because, as things stand, they are heading towards the exit door.
It’s risky going gung-ho from the get-go, but Madrid need to be frightened and that risk might just be worth it.
