Giorgi Mamardashvili has shared the pride and purpose behind his decision to join Liverpool.
He described it as the start of a dream he has carried since childhood.
The Georgian goalkeeper arrived this month from Valencia and immediately felt the gravity of wearing the club’s badge.
“When I agreed to Liverpool’s offer last summer, I felt something big was beginning,” he said in an interview with the club’s media.
“Now I truly understand what it means to be Liverpool’s player.”
Even before stepping onto the pitch at Deepdale for his first pre-season minutes, Mamardashvili had watched every game of Liverpool’s title-winning campaign with anticipation.
We are not just a team, we are people who care about each other.”
