Man City have arrived at a final decision over the transfer plans of Savinho and Rodrygo as the transfer windows enters its closing stages.
The Cityzens have bolstered their squad after bringing in Rayan Cherki from Lyon and Tijjani Reijnders from AC Milan, yet, it appears their transfer activity is not done.
Mick Brown told Football Insider that Man City’s Savinho is keen on a move to Tottenham, after playing just one season under Pep Guardiola following a permanent move from Girona.
The winger is not the only Brazilian of interest with sources telling Football Insider that Man City could be put off by the £85–100million price tag for Rodrygo of Real Madrid with the number 11 linked with a move to the Premier League this summer.
Both South Americans could be on the move this window but a fresh new update from Spanish journalist Guillem Balague suggests the domino effect may have been paralysed.

After speculation Savinho could join Tottenham after heavy interest, pundit Balague took to X (18 August) to provide an update on the current transfer situation.
The Spaniard stated: “Manchester City have decided Savinho is to stay.”

He added on that the deal, as part of a domino effect, was key to bringing in Real Madrid’s forward, saying: “That kills any possibility of Rodrygo joining City (Real Madrid did not get an offer for him as it was depending on Savinho leaving).”
It seems the pursuit of the Brazil international has ended, which may open up the doors for other Premier League suitors in the closing stages of the transfer window.
Football Insider verdict
From a Spurs fan’s perspective, I always did find the obsession with the ex-PSV winger a bit odd given we landed the services of the wonderful Mohammed Kudus.
The Ghanian dazzled on his league debut on 16 August, setting up both of Richarlison’s goals in a 3-0 victory over Burnley.
The doors closed for Savinho does not bother me, but it will be intriguing to see if the Brazilian pushes his way back into Pep Guardiola’s starting XI.

Currently out injured, the number 26 will now have to compete for a starting spot on the right-hand side with the return of Oscar Bobb who shined in City’s 4-0 rout over Wolves.
The Norwegian delivered one assist and two key passes as he ran debutant David Moller Wolfe ragged on the right-flank.
This highlights that Savinho by no means is guaranteed a spot in the starting XI from the get-go as he looks to come back from injury sharp and hungry.
Evidently, Guardiola wanted to keep the former Girona man as another option down the right-hand side, but Bobb may have just put in an early bid to retain the position for the remainder of the season.
