Man City will likely step up their pursuit of Newcastle right-back Tino Livramento with their options dwindling – and what a signing it would be.
The Sky Blues have identified issues and summarily addressed them this summer, for the most part.
Needing a new left-back, Man City signed Rayan Ait-Nouri from Wolves.
Tijjani Reijnders has arrived from AC Milan to fill the void left by Kevin De Bruyne’s departure, and Rayan Cherki will add depth to the attacking areas, particularly the left wing.

Kyle Walker’s departure to Burnley has left Pep Guardiola with only Matheus Nunes and Rico Lewis as options on the right side of his defence.
Keith Wyness revealed to Football Insider exclusively that Man City may be able to sign Jules Kounde, taking advantage of Barcelona’s precarious financial position.
The Frenchman would appear to be an ideal option for Guardiola at fullback, given his defensive expertise.

The 26-year-old has a wealth of experience playing at centre-back and right-back and has appeared 42 times for France.
However, The Athletic reports that Kounde has agreed to terms on a new five-year contract with Barcelona, ruling out a move to the Premier League.
Denzel Dumfries has also been a target for Man City this summer.
The talented Inter right-back is a more attack-minded player, but the 29-year-old is still a savvy defensive operator.

The defender would have been available for a reasonable £21.5million this summer, thanks to a release clause in his contract.
However, as revealed by Pete O’Rourke to Football Insider, Dumfries’ release clause at Inter expired on 31 July, making it likely he will remain with the Serie A giants this summer.
Mick Brown told Football Insider in July that Man City were preparing to step up their interest in Livramento this summer.
Since moving to Tyneside in the summer of 2023, the England international has improved steadily and is without a doubt one of the Premier League’s most well-rounded fullbacks.
Whilst Livramento’s end product leaves a lot to be desired (two assists in two seasons at Newcastle), the ex-Chelsea man is often a key part of the build-up play, and linked well with Jacob Murphy last season.

What’s more, Guardiola is no stranger to operating a lopsided defence with one fullback given more licence to attack, and the other forming a back-three when in possession.
Livramento’s strong defensive abilities may make him the perfect option for City, given they have signed Ait-Nouri, who finished with 11 goal contributions, the best record of any defender in the Premier League last season.
