Pep Guardiola is ready to sell three Manchester City stars from his squad before the transfer deadline passes.

The eight-time Premier League champions have had a successful window in terms of incomings at the Etihad.

City completed the signing of Tijjani Reijnders early on in the summer, as well as bringing in the likes of Rayan Cherki and Rayan Ait-Nouri.

The Manchester side have also offloaded a number of former stars, including Kevin De Bruyne, Kyle Walker, and Jack Grealish.

However, Everton’s former chief Keith Wyness – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – believes that City still have more sales to make.

This article contains exclusive comment from Keith Wyness, former Everton, Aston Villa, and Aberdeen CEO.

Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, Wyness insisted that Man City will agree some big deals as Guardiola aims to trim down the size of his squad before the deadline.

Savinho has been linked with Tottenham, and both Nathan Ake and Manuel Akanji are also potentially in line for an exit.

Wyness added that he expects City to lose two or three big players over the next week.

He told Football Insider‘s Inside Track podcast: “Pep stated that he wanted to shrink the squad to a degree.

They may be trading some of these players in return for some youth players.

“Don’t forget the whole City group gives them a huge leverage to be able to put players into different clubs and for development and different things.

“I do expect Pep to shrink the squad.

I do expect him to lose two or three at least.

But still, I do expect some movement for football reasons, which are the right reasons.

“I do expect some bigger movement out of the Etihad this week, and again it’s another one to watch because they won’t be small names going, they’ll be big names and big deals.”

Meanwhile, Everton are reportedly accelerating a move to sign Man City defender Ake as they prepare for a busy end to the summer transfer window.

That is according to former Man United and Blackburn chief scout Mick Brown, who claims that Guardiola is prepared to cash in on the 30-year-old.

The Man City boss has overseen wide-scale changes to his side over the summer, and is now focusing on selling some of the fringe players to balance the books.

Ake’s ability to play at left-back would allow David Moyes to strengthen another key area of his side while also adding quality strength in depth to his defence.
