Liverpool are shrewd operators in the transfer market and usually only negotiate on their own terms.
The Reds like to do things their own way and if they are not fully in control of a situation, they almost never do business.
However, this summer could be different due to the ongoing saga surrounding Luis Diaz, with the Colombian seemingly wanting out of Anfield.
Liverpool do not want to sell Diaz but if a big offer comes in, and it looks like it might, then they will be tempted, with their rumoured asking price being £72.5m.
Saudi clubs, Bayern Munich and most notably Barcelona want the Colombian, but funnily enough, the deciding factor in which club he goes to could be completely dependent on their rivals Manchester United.

Liverpool and Man United’s rivalry goes back decades, and it is safe to say that the two absolutely despise one another.
However, The Red Devils could just affect Diaz’s future as any deal could be dependent on who they sell Marcus Rashford to.
According to Florian Plettenberg of Sky Germany, Barcelona still want Diaz but believe it is unlikely to happen, so they have reopened talks with Rashford instead.

The Colombian is still their top priority but after already having two approaches knocked back by the Reds, Rashford could be more viable.
The 27-year-old is almost nailed on to leave Old Trafford this summer and Man United want £40m for him, significantly less than Liverpool’s asking price for Diaz.
Bayern Munich also want Diaz so could also move for Rashford as an alternative, suggesting that this summer could be a merry-go-round for wingers, but it would be the Premier League that miss out the most.
Diaz to Barcelona, whether Liverpool fans like it or not, is a transfer that just makes so much sense – footballing ability-wise and based on personality.
The Colombian has always had a love for the Spanish giants and it has never been kept secret, with his father even once saying that it was his son’s dream move.
Diaz should also avoid the same mistake Sadio Mane made and opt against a move to Munich, with La Liga suiting his style of play much more.
He has pace, flair and trickery, traits that have been synonymous with Barcelona wingers over the years, suggesting he could be a real hit if he makes the move.
Of course, Liverpool should only let him go if the right transfer fee comes in for him, but if it does, perhaps it is the right time to move on.
