The France international saw off a challenge from Liverpool's Mohamed Salah to secure the prize and be crowned Europe's finest player.

Salah came fourth in the final standings, prompting outrage from some sections of supporters.

He claimed the PFA Premier League player of the year award for 2024/25 following his role in Liverpool's title success, but was behind Dembele, Lamine Yamal and Vitinha in the Ballon d'Or rankings.

Dembele netted 21 times and registered eight assists across 29 Ligue 1 matches for PSG during the previous campaign.

He also played a key role as they claimed their maiden Champions League crown.

He shared Dembele's post to his story and added a caption reading, "Amazing bro," along with a clapping red heart emoji.
