Man United have just ONE player in the FA Cup team of the round, as Liverpool also have an inclusion in Sofascore's best XI... but which unlikely star gets the highest rating of the quarter-finals?

Manchester United have only had one player included in the FA Cup team of the round by sports data company SofaScore.

The Red Devils came from behind to secure a dramatic 4-3 victory against rivals Liverpool in extra-time to reach the semi-finals of the tournament. 

It was one of the best rounds of FA Cup action in quite some time, as Coventry beat Wolves 3-2 in a game just as action packed, while Chelsea made life hard for themselves in a 4-2 victory over Leicester.

Man City's 2-0 victory over Newcastle was the most processional of the round, but Pep Guardiola's side have had more players included in Sofascore's XI than any other team who featured in the quarter-finals.

So who made Sofascore's team of the quarter-finals? Mail Sport takes a look.

GOALKEEPER

Jose Sa (Wolves) - 8.4 

Wolves crashed out of the FA Cup after two stoppage-time goals from Coventry, but the Championship side should have wrapped up the match much earlier during the second-half.

When Gary O'Neil's side were 1-0 down and struggling to contain the Sky Blues, the goalkeeper made some very impressive saves.

He made a vital double save to deny Kasey Palmer and then Ellis on the rebound, while also making saves from the likes of Milan van Ewijk, Haji Wright and Josh Eccles.

His efforts looked to be rewarded after two late goals appeared to give Wolves the advantage - only for Coventry to score in the seventh and tenth minute of stoppage time to seal the shock victory.

Sa conceded three goals but there was not much he could have done about any of them.

DEFENDERS 

Bobby Thomas - 7.5 

Good all-round effort from the Coventry City defender who read the danger well and was quick to clear from his box when they were put under pressure. 

He had the better of Wolves striker Nathan Fraser, who was replaced on the hour mark for Leon Chiwome - who also didn't really cause him any problems. 

Defensively perhaps could have done better for Wolves' second goal, when a drop of the shoulder from Rayan Ait-Nouri left him behind before the ball was played through to Hugo Bueno.

He more than made up for it with a lovely flicked header to set up Simms' 97th minute equaliser.

Manuel Akanji - 7.7 

Manchester City were the only team in the quarter-finals to keep a clean sheet, so it's no surprise that two of their back-line get into this team.

It was Swiss international Akanji though who marshalled the defence making some important tackles and interceptions during the game.

Alexander Isak attempted to get away on his shoulder once or twice, but Akanji recovered and never looked like he needed to overly exert himself.

Josko Gvardiol - 7.4 

The Croatian returned to domestic action for the first time since Manchester City's 3-1 victory over Brentford on February 5.

Jacob Murphy's pace offered him a stern test, but Gvardiol did well to come out on top. 

Anthony Gordon also tried his luck, but also to no avail for the Magpies. 

It's been a difficult first season at the Etihad for the 22-year-old, but he produced a very solid performance on Saturday.

MIDFIELDERS 

Alexis Mac Allister - 8.1

The Argentine midfielder scored in his third successive game to bring the Reds level after Scott McTominay's opener for the Red Devils.

His blasted effort was deflected into the back of the net and he led their response with his composure in midfield. 

Has arguably been Liverpool's best performer in recent games and it was another impressive performance from the former Brighton star despite their collapse in extra-time.

Scott McTominay - 8.4 

Despite United's incredible comeback, the Scotland international is Manchester United's only player to make Sofascore's best XI.

Kobbie Mainoo and Alejandro Garnacho surely would have been contenders to make this team after their excellent performances at Old Trafford.

McTominay, who was close to being sold in the summer, continues to show his importance as he fired in his 10th of the season.

The 27-year-old really should have doubled their lead when they were on top but he did provide the assist which allowed Marcus Rashford to make it 3-3 in extra time. 

Often gets flack for his on-field performances, but with the amount of important goals he provides makes McTominay a valuable asset.

ATTACKING MIDFIELDERS 

Cole Palmer - 8.4

The England star continues to be Chelsea's shining light in what has been a difficult season.

Chelsea fans were frustrated when Raheem Sterling took the ball off Palmer before missing his penalty which could have put them 2-0 up against Leicester.

Later on in the first-half the pair linked up with Palmer putting the ball in the back of the net.  

Mauricio Pochettino's side would go on to make life hard for themselves in the second-half, but he continued to be a menace for the Foxes.

He provided the decisive moment late on with his backheel assist for Carney Chukwuemeka's winner.

Bernardo Silva - 9  

The Portuguese international punished Newcastle as he scored both goals for Manchester City at the Etihad. 

Though there was an element of fortune as they were both deflected off a Newcastle player, he was rewarded for taking aim after the Magpies stood off and invited him to shoot. 

Silva isn't known for his goals but he's now on nine for the season, and Eddie Howe will be disappointed that his players didn't put more of an effort to close him down.

There was a couple of other classy touches from Silva during the game, and on the day he looked like the best player on the pitch.

Carney Chukwuemeka - 8.2 

Not a bad effort to make Sofascore's selection when he was only brought on as a 78th minute substitute. 

There was boos as he came on the pitch, but that was more for the fact that Mykhailo Mudryk was being replaced and not Raheem Sterling.

Pochettino could be happy with the changes he made though as both Chukwuemeka and Noni Madueke scored in stoppage-time.

Chukwuemeka doesn't play much but he showed his quality with a give-and-go with Palmer before passing the ball into the corner.  

A knee injury has restricted his appearances to just nine in all competitions this season and he will be hoping that he can finish his season strong after his positive impact against the Foxes.

Rayan Ait-Nouri (8.4)

The 22-year-old Algerian international might have found himself on the losing side but his performance showed why clubs including Liverpool and Manchester United have been linked with him. 

He had a big part in both goals, the first of which being a cool finish into the back of the net to draw Wolves level with seven minutes of the 90 remaining.

Then five minutes later he went on a dangerous run before threading the ball through to Bueno who netted his first senior goal. 

Often came inside as an inverted wing-back and looked a threat whenever he was running at defenders.

STRIKER 

Ellis Simms - 9.5 

Sofascore's highest rated player of the FA Cup quarter-finals after his brace in Coventry's 3-2 victory over Wolves.

The only criticism is that he should have had a hat-trick as he somehow was unable to tap home from a square pass from Jake Bidwell after Palmer's shot had been palmed away.  

He eventually gave Coventry the lead after 53 minutes when he bundled home with his hip - a deserved goal after leading the line well against Premier League opposition.

And when all looked lost he scored at the back post again to make it 2-2, before setting up Haji Wright for the winner.

Now they are just one game away from the FA Cup final, but going off his performance against Wolves, Manchester United will have to be wary of him in the next round.
