Manchester United have endured a difficult start to their Premier League season, and now they have mounting questions over their goalkeeping options too.

Ruben Amorim’s side relieved some of the pressure off of the shoulders of the Portuguese head coach with their 3-2 win over Burnley ahead of the international break.

Amorim was under pressure due to early season results and his comments after United’s shock Carabao Cup exit at the hands of League Two Grimsby Town in the week before their win over Burnley.

With the English transfer window now closed, and four of the five members of Amorim’s bomb squad moved on, United can look to move on and improve their performance levels on the pitch.

One area that is still of particular interest at Old Trafford is the goalkeeping position, due to the sub-par performances of Andre Onana and Altay Bayindir, as well as the purchase of Senne Lammens on deadline.

The Sun are reporting that United are willing to listen to offers for both Onana and Bayindir, with the Turkish and Saudi Arabian transfer windows both remaining open.

The Turkish window is open until September 12, while the window in Saudi Arabia doesn’t shut until September 23, giving United plenty of time to try and shift either shot-stopper.

The Sun additionally reported that United were unwilling to let both goalkeepers leave this window, but a move for Bayindir back to his home country, or for Onana ahead of January’s African Cup of Nations, would suit either party.

United’s issues at the goalkeeper position aren’t new to this season, with Onana prone to an error throughout his two-year stint at the club.

Bayindir has also never struck the United fanbase with confidence, which is an unfamiliar feeling at a club that has seen imperious shot-stoppers pass through it’s doors.

The days of David De Gea, Edwin van der Sar, and Peter Schmeichel have felt a distant past in recent seasons, but hopefully Lammens can grow into the role.

The Belgian shot stopper joins the club with some pedigree, but the pressure that comes with playing in goal for United are like nothing Lammens will have felt before.
