Manchester United are set to continue their summer rebuild with a move for a Barcelona star after Marcus Rashford went in the opposite direction.
Manager Ruben Amorim has already signed forwards Bryan Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha to add firepower to his attack after his side scored just 44 goals in 38 Premier League games last season.
Amorim still wants a striker, with Rasmus Hojlund potentially departing, and a new goalkeeper is also a priority following an injury in training to Andre Onana.

Barcelona are open to selling players this summer and have already done business with United over a loan deal for Rashford.

United needed to add more goals to their side this summer, and despite not yet signing a natural striker, the addition of Lopez adds further goal threat to Amorim’s squad.
It is a smart swoop from United to sign a young player who will not be receiving regular minutes at Barcelona, but who has proved he has the potential to become a star at Old Trafford.

Amorim now needs to add that number nine to his squad and his attacking options could be concluded this summer, with the need for defensive additions required.
United are in a transfer tussle with Newcastle United for RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko and Stuttgart forward Nick Woltemade.
Sesko especially would provide Amorim with goals up-front which eluded his side last season with the poor returns of Hojlund and striker partner Joshua Zirkzee.
Amorim will want to conclude any deal before the opening day visit of Arsenal, which will provide a tough first test of the season for United.
