Man United target Benjamin Sesko shared a fresh update on social media as Ruben Amorim’s side continue their search for a striker.

Manchester United remain focused on signing a new striker this summer as they aim to complete their attacking overhaul ahead of the upcoming season.

The Red Devils have already secured the signings of Bryan Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha, but neither are expected to lead the line, with the club still prioritising a more traditional number nine.

Reports have indicated that the club have now made a firm decision on their top target, with Sesko emerging as Man United’s priority for the remainder of the window.

Newcastle were also in the race and had held talks over a potential move for Sesko, but with United now moving swiftly, the Magpies are expected to miss out on yet another attacking target.

With the Slovenian striker’s future still uncertain, the striker has since posted a new update on his social media channels and his current focus.

While Sesko looks increasingly likely to be on the move this summer, he remains with RB Leipzig for their pre-season preparations.

The striker shared an update from training on his Instagram story via the club’s official account, which read: “Best of training camp.”

The 22-year-old enjoyed an impressive campaign in Germany last season, scoring 21 goals and providing six assists, including four goals in the Champions League.

Despite Newcastle’s early interest in the striker as a potential replacement for Alexander Isak, reports have suggested that Sesko would prefer a move to Man United.

Football Insider previously revealed that Arsenal had also shown interest in Sesko, but with Leipzig valuing him at £65 million, the Gunners turned their attention to Sporting striker Viktor Gyokeres instead, leaving United with a clearer path to complete the deal.

With a deal for Sesko progressing, it appears increasingly unlikely that Amorim’s side will continue their pursuit of Chelsea forward Nicolas Jackson.

Football Insider reported that Man United are now expected to cool their interest in Jackson, despite previously considering a move.

The Red Devils had been keeping tabs on Jackson, especially as he found himself slipping down the pecking order at Stamford Bridge.

However, Chelsea’s £80 million asking price has put off potential buyers, which may have prompted United to focus their attention fully on Sesko instead.
