Manchester United will regret selling a member of their bomb squad who has been tipped to be a “huge success” at his new club.

Ruben Amorim eventually managed to offload the majority of the group of outcasts, who had trained away from the first team during pre-season.

Marcus Rashford completed a loan move to Barcelona earlier this summer, before Jadon Sancho and Antony secured deadline-day transfers.

Rasmus Hojlund also departed Old Trafford, agreeing an initial loan switch to Napoli, with an obligation to buy clause included in the deal.

Everton’s former chief Keith Wyness – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – believes that Hojlund is going to thrive away from the Red Devils.

This article contains exclusive comment from Keith Wyness, former Everton, Aston Villa, and Aberdeen CEO.

Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, Wyness insisted that Hojlund is going to be a huge success in Italy and score loads of goals.

In the season before his move to Old Trafford, the Dane managed to find the back of the net nine times in the league for Atalanta at the age of just 19.

Wyness added that he was surprised Man United didn’t keep Hojlund as a bench option.

He told Football Insider‘s Inside Track podcast: “Hojlund going to Napoli will be a spectacular move.

I think he’s going to be a huge success in Italy.

“I tip this to be one of those where he’s going to go there and score loads.

I think with the Scottish contingent in Napoli as well, McTominay, they’re going to do really well, and I just think he’s going to love Serie A.

“I saw Napoli had a last-minute winner at the weekend, and I think that that’s the sort of environment that is going to suit him for his skills, and he’s going to turn out to be a decent player in Italy.

“Anyway, we’ll see what the deal is in terms of any sell-ons and things that they have, and what he does if he does really well at Napoli, but yeah, I’d tip him to do quite well there.”

Meanwhile, Man United could sell Andre Onana to the Saudi Pro League in order to reshuffle their goalkeeping department, sources have told Football Insider.

United currently have four senior keepers at the club after completing the deadline day signing of Senne Lammens from Royal Antwerp.

The Red Devils were unable to find a buyer for Onana, who now looks set to stay at Old Trafford until at least the January window.

However, sources say that Amorim may still be able to sell the Cameroon international within the next month, as the transfer deadline in Saudi Arabia is not until 23 September.
