Jamie Carragher has compared the current Manchester United side to the Liverpool one managed by Roy Hodgson.

Ralf Rangnick recently arrived at Old Trafford and is tasked with improving the club's fortunes.

Performances have left a lot to be desired and Carragher has likened the current Red Devils side to Hodgson's Liverpool outfit.

The pundit also claimed: "This criticism is deserved because when you look at the talent available in the United squad, they should be playing a more entertaining and energetic brand of football."

Liverpool sacked the former England boss after just six months and 31 matches with the Merseysiders sat in the bottom half.

Carragher wrote in the Telegraph : "What might worry United supporters now is when watching their side over the last few weeks, they remind me of Liverpool under Roy Hodgson.

Known for his pressing style, a tactic rarely implemented at Old Trafford, Rangnick has found it difficult to get his point across with Carragher laying as much blame on the players.
