departures look most likely to be in the central defender and striker departments, with both markets are extremely brittle in the current landscape.

But it is of extreme importance to make sure everything gets done before the deadline as Arne Slot cannot be left short changed if he is to successfully keep the English title on Merseyside next year and win further silverware.

With that, the ECHO look at some of the key names linked with moves to Anfield in place of those in line to depart.

Jarell Quansah exit

Next on the agenda would appear to be another exit from the Reds.

Young central defender Jarell Quansah looks to be on the way to Bayer Leverkusen - a third transaction between the two clubs in summer 2025.

In this scenario, Liverpool are allegedly on track to bag £30m up front for the 22-year-old, potentially a further £5m in add-ons and they could also have a buyback clause included - a smart option to have negotiated if true.

Although his opportunities have been few and far between at Anfield, Quansah looks to be a future star.

This deal will not be wrapped up until he has finished participating at this summer's Under-21 European Championships with England, with the semi-final fixture against the Netherlands taking place on Wednesday and a possible final on Saturday.

Marc Guehi decision

The ECHO understands whilst Crystal Palace and England international Marc Guehi is a defender who interests Liverpool, they are willing to bide their time in an effort to sign him.

But the reality of the rapidly developing situation is that time is running out.

They are Virgil van Dijk - 33 and under contract until 2027, Ibrahima Konate - whose contract expires next summer, and lastly Joe Gomez - a dedicated servant of the Reds now for 10 years, but one who cannot be relied upon because of injury.

Liverpool may wish to pull off a Real Madrid-esque coup next summer and land the Chelsea academy product fresh from the expiration of his contract at Selhurst Park next summer, though they are not really in a position to be able to wait.

Therefore Guehi must be signed in summer 2025, for a fee but hopefully one negotiated down by Richard Hughes in knowledge that Palace will be desperate to rake in some money for a player who is currently seeing out his deal.

Darwin Nunez unlocks final transfer

Like Quansah leaving to open up a gap in central defence, Darwin Nunez can do the same and can line Liverpool's coffers in to recruit a new striker as their final arrival of summer 2025

The Uruguayan has long been expected to leave with his role diminishing under Slot last term, now Italian champions Napoli are being heavily linked with interest.

Whatever money collected from the exit of Nunez - and possibly other fringe players - added to what is left in the pot after Guehi arrives, can be the kitty to go out and sign a new No.9 and complete the squad that Liverpool need for next season.

The problem that remains is who the new striker might be
