Liverpool have enjoyed one of their busiest summer transfer windows in recent years, bringing in the likes of Florian Wirtz, Milos Kerkez, Jeremie Frimpong, and Hugo Ekitike.

Arne Slot’s side face a stern challenge next season as they look to retain their Premier League title as well as compete for the UEFA Champions League title.

However, the departures of Darwin Nunez and Luis Diaz have left the Reds short of attacking depth –  a key factor in last season’s dominant title run.

Newcastle United forward Alexander Isak remains high on Liverpool’s wishlist, although an earlier bid was rejected.

Isak is now ‘increasingly likely’ to remain at Newcastle this summer despite informing the club he wants to leave.

The 25-year-old was left out of Newcastle’s pre-season tour of the Far East, with the club citing a thigh injury.

Elsewhere, Real Madrid’s Rodrygo continues to be linked with a move away from the Bernabeu after slipping down the pecking order.

The Brazilian, who joined Los Blancos as a teenager in 2018, now faces increased competition under Xabi Alonso, prompting speculation he could be allowed to leave before the transfer deadline.

Reports from Spain are divided over the 24-year-old’s stance?

Some suggest he is open to a move, while others claim he intends to fight for his place.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Manchester City are considering a move for Rodrygo, viewing the forward as a dream target.

Pep Guardiola is reportedly a huge admirer, and City’s interest comes as Jack Grealish prepares for a loan move to Everton and with Savinho and James McAtee tipped for exits  – the latter expected to join Nottingham Forest.

Real Madrid are reportedly open to selling the player if their asking price of around €100m is met and he agrees to a move.
