Clubs from across Europe have sent messages expressing their support for all those affected after horrific scenes during Liverpool's title parade yesterday.

Merseyside Police said a 53-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, dangerous driving and driving while unfit through drugs after a car struck pedestrians on Water Street, close to where the parade had finished, with more than 50 people injured – including one child who was seriously hurt.

As of Tuesday afternoon, 11 people remained in hospital and were said to be in stable condition.



More than 50 people were initially taken to hospital, with others treated at the scene.



And a statement from Everton said: "Everyone at Everton Football Club is deeply saddened by the horrific incident on Water Street yesterday during Liverpool Football Club's Premier League victory celebrations.

And a statement from Everton said: "Everyone at Everton Football Club is deeply saddened by the horrific incident on Water Street yesterday during Liverpool Football Club's Premier League victory celebrations.

"Our thoughts are with all those affected at this incredibly difficult time and we extend our best wishes for a full recovery to those who were injured.

"We urge anybody who may have information relating to the incident to contract the Merseyside Police investigation team.

Information, including video footage, can be passed on via the Major Incident Police Portal (MIPP).

While a message from Manchester United read: “Our thoughts are with @LFC and the city of Liverpool after today’s awful incident."

Arsenal, Aston Villa, Brentford, Brighton, Crystal Palace, Fulham, Ipswich Town, Leicester City, Manchester City, Newcastle United, Nottingham Forest, Southampton and Tottenham Hotspur all also showed their support with messages on social media.

From lower English divisions, Barrow, Birmingham City, Blackburn Rovers, Blackpool, Bolton, Bradford City, Burnley, Carlisle United, Coventry City, Exeter City, Grimsby Town, Leeds United, Leyton Orient, Lincoln City, Luton Town, Norwich City, Plymouth Argyle, Port Vale, Preston North End, Slough Town, Sunderland, Stevenage Town, Swansea City, Torquay United, West Bromwich Albion, Wimbledon, Wrexham and York City also sent messages of support.

While Arne Slot's former club Feyenoord, said: "(Love heart emoji) for Liverpool and everyone involved..."

Espanyol, Hamburg, Lyon, Olympiacos, Rangers, RB Leipzig, Sevilla, Toulouse, Union Berlin and Villarreal have also sent messages of support.
