Liverpool’s senior squad has cranked up preparations for the 2025–26 campaign with a pre-season itinerary.
After a 3–1 victory over Preston North End on July 13 and a behind-closed-doors 5–0 thrashing of Stoke City on July 20, the Reds embarked on a landmark Asian tour.
Matches against AC Milan in Hong Kong this Saturday and Yokohama F.
Marinos in Japan on July 30 wrap up the tour before two Anfield friendlies with Athletic Bilbao on August 4.
But Liverpool FC Women also have some exciting fixtures planned.
The club have officially confirmed that the women’s side will play their Manchester United counterparts in a friendly at the Leigh Sports Village on August 20th.
The clash will kick-off at 7pm BST, with tickets already available from the club HERE.
Liverpool FC Women have entered a period of significant change since Matt Beard’s exit in February.
With Amber Whiteley stepping up as interim head coach after Matt Beard departed, the Reds have pressed on with summer preparations while holding advanced discussions with ex-Manchester City boss Gareth Taylor to take charge permanently.
Taylor, 52, boasts an impressive CV that includes an FA Cup triumph in 2020 and a League Cup win in 2022.
The off-season has presented its share of anxieties for supporters, too.
Vice-captain Taylor Hinds bid farewell to Merseyside, opting for a free transfer back to Arsenal’s academy roots.
The biggest headline, however, arrived with the record-shattering departure of Canada international Olivia Smith?
Her £1 million move to Arsenal not only set a new benchmark in women’s football but also marked a substantial loss for Liverpool after she dazzled in her debut campaign at the club.
Amid this upheaval, reasons for optimism still emerge at Melwood.
Japanese international Fuka Nagano – an anchor in midfield and a fan favourite – is on the verge of committing her future to Liverpool, despite serious attempts from both Manchester United and Everton to lure her away.
