Luis Diaz has admitted his pride at being able to play alongside Trent Alexander-Arnold at Liverpool.
The Liverpool vice-captain marked his return from an ankle injury by scoring the winning goal off the bench for the Reds in their 1-0 victory over Leicester City on Easter Sunday.
Alexander-Arnold was initially booed by some supporters after taking to the field, as uncertainty around his future continues with the England international out of contract in the summer and anticipated to be joining Real Madrid on a free transfer.
However, he emerged as Liverpool’s hero moments later when breaking the deadlock at the King Power Stadium, with his strike leaving the Reds just one more victory away from clinching the Premier League title.

Virgil van Dijk revealed after the win that the Liverpool dressing room do not yet know if Alexander-Arnold will be staying put at Anfield or moving on this summer.
While the Liverpool squad might be none the wiser as to whether they will still be team-mates with Alexander-Arnold next season, they were delighted to see him return from injury against Leicester.

Speaking after the final whistle, Diaz admitted his envy at his team-mate’s striking ability as he also revealed his pride at being able to play alongside Alexander-Arnold.
“As a team-mate, he’s calm.
A very calm guy,” the Colombian told TNT Sports Mexico when asked about having Alexander-Arnold as a team-mate.
Many obviously envy his striking ability, which makes him look more like a number 10 than a full-back.
“I’m very happy to share it with these great players because I saw him on television when I was younger and seeing that today, I’m here, sharing it with great players from this squad, fills me with a lot of pride.”
Van Dijk and Diaz were not the only Liverpool players asked about Alexander-Arnold following his winner over Leicester City - Both Alexis Mac Allister and Kostas Tsimikas were too.
The Argentine would side-step questions about his team-mate’s future as both players shared their delight for the Reds vice-captain.
“Personally I’m really happy for the team and for Trent,” Mac Allister said.
