Liverpool look set to bolster their defensive options ahead of the transfer windows closure by signing Crystal Palace skipper Marc Guehi.
While the prospective signing of Alexander Isak from Newcastle United has dominated the headlines this summer for the Reds, they knew they had to bring in a central defender.

Palace need to bring in a replacement, and thought they had found one in Brighton defender Igor Julio, only for their move for the Brighton defender to collapse.

With less than three hours left in the window, it remains to be seen whether Palace will find another defender to bring in to replace Guehi, which could lead to Liverpool missing out on the England international altogether.

He currently wears the number six for Palace, which is occupied by Milos Kerkez.
The numbers Guehi could choose to wear for Liverpool, assuming he does not want to wear a number higher than 33, are 13, 16, 21, 23, 24, 27, 29, 31, 32, 33.
