Liverpool remain interested in Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi as Arne Slot continues to bolster his squad.
Slot has already strengthened his attack, as Liverpool have signed Hugo Ekitike and Germany international Florian Wirtz.
The acquisitions of former Bournemouth fullback Milos Kerkez and ex-Bayer Leverkusen ace Jeremie Frimpong have also boosted the Reds’ defence.
Meanwhile, Liverpool are set to sign Giovanni Leoni despite rival interest from Newcastle and Manchester United in the centre-back.

Amid their bid to retain their Premier League title, Liverpool are keen on signing Guehi this summer.
The England international played a key role as Palace won the FA Cup last term as well as performing well in their Community Shield victory over Slot’s me on Sunday, 10 August, and could be a real asset for the Anfield giants.
However, playing ‘transfer Tinder’ live on talkSPORT [14 August], Gabby Agbonlahor spoke about Liverpool’s advances for Guehi: “I’m swiping left (saying no).

Guehi’s performances for both Palace and England prove that he is capable of playing for a side that boast aspirations of winning the Premier League, and even the Champions League.

However, the 25-year-old could struggle to nail down a starting 11 spot at Liverpool, thanks to the presence of Virgil van Dijk and Ibrahima Konate.
Furthermore, the Merseyside club are on the verge of strengthening their centre-back options as they close in on Parma star Leoni.
Guehi is a gifted defender who may be confident of beating the likes of Konate to a regular spot in Slot’s team.
However, at Crystal Palace, the former Chelsea man is already a guaranteed starter whose performances for the South Londoners are set to earn him a place in England’s World Cup squad next summer.
If Guehi goes to Liverpool and finds himself further down in the pecking order, though, it would scupper his chances of earning such an honour with the Three Lions.
Meanwhile, commentator Ian Darke has weighed in on the Alexander Isak transfer saga in a Liverpool News 247 exclusive.
