Marc Guehi contract 'stance' emerges as Liverpool 'plot deal' for another defender

Liverpool's summer transfer business has been officially completed, but they are still being linked with some potential new signings.

The Reds made eight signings during the summer window, which concluded with the arrival of Alexander Isak on deadline day.

A £125million deal with Newcastle United was agreed over the weekend, and Liverpool finalised the move to bring Isak to Anfield before Monday's 7pm deadline.



Isak will now be looking ahead to after the international break, where he will be hoping to quickly make his Reds debut.



Deadline day also saw drama in the form of a deal falling through for Crystal Palace star Marc Guehi.

The end result has led to plenty of speculation about what could happen next for the England international.

Here, the ECHO takes a look at some of the latest Liverpool transfer news and gossip that has emerged over the last 24 hours.

The Times has are reporting that Guehi is currently planning to leave Palace as a free agent next summer and will not sign an extension to remain at Selhurst Park.

It has been reported that Guehi is "disappointed" that a move to Liverpool did not happen and is not planning to put pen to paper on fresh terms with Palace.

Guehi's current deal expires next summer and Liverpool were expecting to sign the England international before Palace stopped the transfer on deadline day.

Liverpool are reportedly in the running to sign Brentford defender Nathan Collins in the January transfer window.

Caught Offside have reported that the Reds will battle Tottenham Hotspur for Collins' signature when the transfer window reopens in the New Year.

Manchester United are also mentioned as having an interest in signing Collins.

The report claims that Collins could leave Brentford if they receive an offer worth €50million (£43.5million) or more.
