“The centre-back captained the club to its first-ever major honour last season, but is now set to depart.”

That is the main reason behind his decision.
Last summer, Newcastle tried to sign him for £60 million.

Liverpool are now in the picture.
They recently agreed to sell Jarell Quansah to Bayer Leverkusen for up to £35 million.
It’s a smart move by the club, as they included a buy-back clause.
According to Fabrizio Romano, that clause gives Liverpool future control if Quansah excels in Germany.

Tottenham, Arsenal, and Newcastle are all keen.
But reports say “Guehi wants reassurances on game time but he is keen on a potential move to Liverpool.”
