Marc Guehi is ready for the next step in his career.
After a strong season with Crystal Palace, the 24-year-old has made up his mind.
The England defender is not short on options.
Top clubs from the Premier League are circling.
For Guehi, this summer is key.
He is looking for a club that matches his ambitions, especially with the 2026 World Cup on the horizon.
The transfer market is already in motion.
Liverpool have just agreed to sell one of their own promising centre-backs.
They are expected to re-invest quickly.
The question now is whether they can strike a deal for Guehi.
Other Premier League clubs are watching closely too.
The pressure is building, and it’s only June.
According to The Standard, Marc Guehi is leaving Crystal Palace this summer.
He will not sign a new contract, and the club have decided to sell.
The report read, “Marc Guehi will not sign a new Crystal Palace contract this summer as the Eagles have decided to sell him.”
“The centre-back captained the club to its first-ever major honour last season, but is now set to depart.”
The centre-back led Palace to their first-ever major honour last season, when they won the FA Cup.
But now, he wants to move on.
“He is hoping for a more competitive club as he looks to confirm a leading role at the 2026 World Cup.”
That is the main reason behind his decision.
Last summer, Newcastle tried to sign him for £60 million.
The move failed, but the interest hasn’t gone away.
Liverpool are now in the picture.
They recently agreed to sell Jarell Quansah to Bayer Leverkusen for up to £35 million.
It’s a smart move by the club, as they included a buy-back clause.
According to Fabrizio Romano, that clause gives Liverpool future control if Quansah excels in Germany.
Interestingly, DaveOCKOP revealed in March that Liverpool had already held discussions with Marc Guehi’s representatives.
Talks have continued.
From Liverpool’s side, the interest is real.
DaveOCKOP also broke the news that that Liverpool are hoping to sign Marc Guehi for a fee around £30M.
That would match the Quansah sale, a tidy bit of business.
However, Crystal Palace are not expected to accept £30M at this stage.
With just a year left on Guehi’s deal, Palace also don’t want to lose him for free next summer.
Tottenham, Arsenal, and Newcastle are all keen.
But reports say “Guehi wants reassurances on game time but he is keen on a potential move to Liverpool.”
If Liverpool can agree on the fee, they are in a strong position to land him.
