Marc Guehi has already endorsed 'unbelievable' player Liverpool want to sign

Marc Guehi was the subject of summer interest from Liverpool, and the England international has now endorsed another player whom Arne Slot likes the look of.

Guehi looked set to move to Liverpool, but the deal fell through at the 11th hour on transfer deadline day.

Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner threatened to walk away if Guehi was sold, and due to the lack of a replacement, the move was blocked.

Liverpool have lost ground in their race to sign Guehi with a host of other clubs reportedly aiming to sign the centre-back in January.

Football Insider exclusively revealed that Liverpool have learned Crystal Palace’s asking price for Guehi if he is to move to Anfield during the January transfer window.

Speaking to Sky Sports ahead of Crystal Palace’s Carabao Cup tie against Millwall, Guehi sang the praises of teammate Adam Wharton.

Guehi said on Wharton: “Adam’s passing […] Adam is again similar to Ebs [Eberechi Eze], he’s a very laidback guy, really nice guy.

His vision, his ability to find that last pass, he’s a really top player.”

Liverpool fans will be keen to hear those opinions of Crystal Palace’s club captain, and will hope the two can combine for Arne Slot’s side in twelve months time.

Football Insider discovered that Crystal Palace will decline any offers for Adam Wharton in the January transfer window, although they do expect to field calls for the midfielder.

Real Madrid and Manchester United are two teams interested in Wharton, alongside Liverpool, and there are bound to be many more clubs also monitoring his situation.

Whatever the destination, it seems Crystal Palace will have to strap themselves in as their top talents look due to be plundered in a tumultuous 2026 summer for the London club.
