Marc Guehi's transfer to Liverpool looks to have been thrown into major doubt, despite the Crystal Palace defender having already started his medical.

A $47 million deal has been agreed between the two clubs, and Guehi is understood be undergoing a medical in London in preparation for completing his move to Anfield - that though could now be in serious doubt.

According to The Times, Palace has encountered an "unknown problem" in trying to secure a replacement for Guehi.

Ben Jacobs claims that West Ham has hijacked the deal, with Igor choosing a move to the London Stadium rather than Selhurst Park, and throwing Guehi's proposed move into major doubt in the process.

The news comes with just over a couple of hours remaining before the transfer window closes, leaving Palace very little time if it is to secure a defensive replacement for its captain.

Palace boss Oliver Glasner has made it clear throughout the summer that the club will not offload Guehi unless there is another defender on his way to take his place.

Liverpool had been confident of getting a deal over the line deadline day, with Guehi even beginning his medical in London in order to save time and complete the move quicker.

Should Palace fail to find a replacement though, it looks as though Guehi could be staying put, which could have a knock-on effect for Joe Gomez, who has been linked with a late move away from Anfield.

Despite the doubt surrounding Guehi's transfer, Liverpool does look set to make at least one deadline day signing, with Alexander Isak finally completing his move from Newcastle after a long saga.

The striker has been on Merseyside today to undergo his medical, with Liverpool having agreed a $169M deal with Newcastle.
