Marcus Rashford has continued to shine at Barcelona since joining the La Liga giants on loan from Manchester United in the summer transfer window.

However, Spanish football expert Guillem Ballague believes that Rashford has to work harder to secure a permanent transfer.

The England winger has notched two goals and two assists in seven appearances for Hansi Flick’s men since moving from Ruben Amorim’s side.

Meanwhile, Rashford was dropped from Barcelona’s starting 11 against Getafe, as punishment for turning up late to training, but his on-field exploits have undoubtedly impressed.

After scoring a brace in Barcelona’s 2-1 triumph over Newcastle United in the Champions League, Rashford revealed the confidence Flick has given him.

The 27-year-old failed to impress Amorim at Man United last season before being deployed on loan to Aston Villa.

His positive showings for Barcelona have been epitomised by the fact that he has completed 10 take-ons in the opposition box, which is more than any other player in Europe’s top five leagues.

In the summer transfer window, Rashford was deemed surplus to requirements by Man United, alongside stars like Jadon Sancho and Antony.

Since joining Barcelona, the former Villa man has proven his clinical tendencies.

Similarly, Antony shone while on loan with Real Betis last term, scoring nine goals and producing five assists in 26 outings for Manuel Pellegrini’s men.

The Brazil international has already gone on to notch one goal and one assist in three appearances for Betis this season, scoring against Nottingham Forest in the Europa League.

Meanwhile, Sancho produced a return of five goals and eight assists during his loan spell with Chelsea last season, which was a better return than he has ever managed in a single season for Man United.

Amorim is in a worrying predicament as his side continues to struggle in the Premier League, whereas his former players are shining across different leagues in Europe, with Rasmus Hojlund also scoring on his Napoli debut.
