Liverpool’s first season under Arne Slot exceeded everyone’s expectations.

When Jurgen Klopp departed, many fans were worried about the future of the club, although Arne Slot has proven that it is in very safe hands.

The Dutchman’s appointment has gone seamlessly and he has created a team capable of winning everything available to them.

He can also be credited for the emergence of some stars, with the Liverpool manager turning Ryan Gravenberch from bit-part player to a key cog in his winning machine.

The 23-year-old has made the defensive midfield position his own and was vital in helping the Reds win the Premier League, proving how much of a bargain he was at just £34.2m.

Despite having the best season of his career to date, there is still one thing he is desperate to do at Anfield and it looks like that will be the aim next season.

Winning a league title is one of the best achievements there are but the Champions League is, arguably, more prestigious.

Calling yourselves the kings of Europe is a title that not many teams have had, but Liverpool can certainly label themselves that after winning six European cups throughout their history.

Gravenberch, however, is yet to get his hands on this trophy and has admitted that it is something he will aim to achieve next season with Liverpool.

“There’s so much I still want to achieve,” Gravenberch told Numero Netherlands.

“I’ve been lucky enough to win league titles in the Netherlands, Germany, and England, but as a player, you’re always chasing more.

“That hunger never goes away, and I feel that every day.

Winning the Champions League is a massive dream of mine, that’s one I haven’t ticked off yet.”

The young Dutchman enjoyed a phenomenal season last time out and proved to everyone why he was signed in the first place.

The midfielder was also recognised for his performances by winning the Premier League’s Young Player of the Season Award, something he will be still eligible to win again next season due to being 23 when the season restarts.

However, with Florian Wirtz coming in, he will be just as important as ever due to Liverpool’s increased attacking threat, suggesting he might be required to defend more often than he was last season.

His ball-carrying ability and skill to take players on will also be needed to create attacks from deep, suggesting the Reds’ balance in the midfield may cause them to dominate games even more next season.
