Time is running out in the transfer window and big things are happening on the red half of Merseyside.
There are just five days to go until deadline day and after starting the window frantically, it looks like Liverpool might end it that way too.
They still feel a few signings short despite spending close to £300m already, and if things go the way fans hope it will, this figure might be pushing £500m by September 1st.
Wednesday has seen a lot of movement in the market from the Reds, with new targets also emerging, indicating that the next few days could be key for their title defence.

Alexander Isak remains the player top of Liverpool’s wishlist, but with the transfer saga simply not budging, the Reds are ensuring they have a contingency plan in place.
If a deal for the Swede does not work out, reports suggest they could make a move for Dusan Vlahovic instead, with the Juventus striker said to be open to a move.
Newcastle are also keeping close tabs on him and Reds fans will probably be hoping they get him instead, with this potentially triggering Isak’s sale to Liverpool.
Arne Slot is reportedly keen to bring in a new striker before deadline day and it would be no surprise to see his wishes granted, although who that will be is not yet known.

Since Luis Diaz departed, questions have been raised about whether he will be replaced, but the answer to that appears to be a no.
Lyon’s Malick Fofana was an option, but the Belgian has decided he is staying in France this summer as a good enough project was not presented to him.

One move that has been on the cards ever since Milos Kerkez arrived is Kostas Tsimikas leaving the club, with the Reds currently having three left-backs to choose from.
The ‘Greek scouser’ is a much-loved figure at Anfield but minutes cannot be guaranteed, hence why he is tipped to go, with many clubs interested.
And, AS Roma are said to be ‘waiting for an opening’ before making a move for the 29-year-old, although they only want a loan move while Liverpool are keen for a permanent sale.
Elsewhere, Steve Nicol believes that Florian Wirtz should be moved out to the left as he is struggling in the number 10 position, while Darren Bent cannot believe how poor Ibrahima Konate has started the season.
