The Premier League has announced the match officials for Liverpool’s penultimate home game for the 2024/25 Premier League season against Arsenal.

After a mildly disappointing 3-1 loss to Chelsea in the last round, the newly crowned Premier League champions return to action for the first time since they beat Tottenham to clinch the title.

Arsenal are their opponents this time, and they will be looking to continue their dominant head-to-head record at Anfield when both sides meet.

Arne Slot’s side has not lost to the Gunners at home since a 2-0 loss to them in 2012.

The Reds have won their last three home games and also have the best home record in the league this season, having won 14 of their 17 league games at home (D2, L1).

Sunday’s match will see Arsenal players form a guard of honour for Liverpool’s champions, a customary gesture last performed by the Gunners in Liverpool’s 2019/20 title-winning season.

Arsenal have been Liverpool’s closest challengers for the majority of the season.

But the Gunners come into this tie in poor form domestically, having failed to win their last two league games (D1, L1)?

As a result, they are still battling to secure their UEFA Champions League spot for next season, with three games to go.

While Liverpool will only be playing to keep their impressive home record, the Gunners will be desperate to secure a win that will all but guarantee that they will finish in the top five.

With that in mind, the Premier League has announced the match officials for the clash at Anfield on Sunday.

Anthony Taylor has been placed as the on-field referee, and he will be assisted by Gary Beswick and Lee Betts.

Craig Pawson is the fourth official, while VAR in Stockley Park will be manned by Paul Tierney and assisted by Mat Wilkes.
