Aston Villa defender Matty Cash shared a reaction to one of his teammates’ performances against Bologna.
Aston Villa started their European campaign with a win, thanks to John McGinn’s strike from outside the box in a 1-0 win over Bologna.
The victory marks Villa’s first win of the campaign, after they were knocked out of the Carabao Cup and sit 18th in the Premier League.
One player who caught attention was goalkeeper Marco Bizot, after Emi Martinez missed the game due to injury.
Bizot has impressed for Villa in previous appearances, and now, teammate Cash was quick to share his praise for his latest clean-sheet display.
While there may have been uncertainty regarding the goalkeeping position over the summer, Bizot has stepped in and delivered a fantastic performance.
Cash reposted an image of himself with the shot-stopper after the game that read: “Clean sheet” with the defender tagging the goalkeeper with a fire emoji.

The goalkeeper made seven saves for the side, as well as making a successful run out and two clearances, earning him an 8.8 rating on SofaScore – the highest-rated player on the pitch.
Emery was also impressed with him in his post-match interview, as he said: “Marco Bizot played a fantastic game today.
It’s very important to use different players in different positions and for them to gain confidence, which Marco did today” [The Mirror].
Bizot joined Aston Villa in the summer after spending four years at French side Brest.
Football Insider revealed that Bizot was not being brought in to replace Martinez, but rather to take over from Robin Olsen.
However, after another impressive display, there could be a selection headache for the manager once Martinez returns from his latest injury setback.

Martinez had been linked with an Aston Villa exit in the summer, but wasn’t willing to join Saudi Pro League clubs.
After continuous transfer talk and a recent injury, the Argentine has been rotated so far with Bizot, giving him an opportunity to stake his claim.
With Football Insider revealing that Martinez will push to leave Aston Villa next summer if they continue to struggle, Bizot could be looked at as a stable option amid the uncertainty.
