Here, is how the national media, and the ECHO's Paul Gorst, viewed another below-par performance from Liverpool.
Jonathan Northcroft of The Times wrote: "April has been a dog of a month — an absolute squib of a month — for everyone at Anfield, though.
Now, Klopp is edging towards the exit with nothing to play for, after the result here surely banished Liverpool’s title hopes for good, and there are doubts about the team’s superstar.
"Approaching 32, with a year left on his contract and a new manager about to arrive in Arne Slot who demands ferocious pressing from his forwards, there were already questions about Salah’s future; and now this.
"A shame, because Salah is such a wonderful footballer and has been such a force for good in the game, not only in Premier League terms but also on a global scale.
Only he and Salah know what was said but Klopp shut down questions as if he is done dealing with star footballers as well.
"It could have been a day of re-affirmation.
Liverpool were, as Klopp said “super-dominant” for much of the game but also vulnerable with Jarrod Bowen’s first from West Ham coming from another set-piece.
"Salah himself has not scored in the recent defeats to Atalanta, Crystal Palace and Everton which has given his club a glimpse of what life might be like in the post-Salah era.
The responsibility will fall on Arne Slot next season and much will depend on whether Liverpool can rediscover their poise in front of goal.
"This was a game they could have won 10 times over.
"They ripped into a passive West Ham at the start of the second half, scored twice and had enough chances to seal a win that would have kept alive their hopes of taking advantage of any slips from Arsenal and Manchester City."
The ECHO's Paul Gorst wrote: "Anyone searching for just how troubling these times are for Liverpool just now found all the evidence they needed after 77 minutes here at the London Stadium.
"The scene was Mohamed Salah and Jurgen Klopp, the two people who have perhaps done more than any other pair to thrust greatness upon Liverpool in recent years, arguing on the sidelines as the opposition celebrated a goal.
"Having risen to global stardom under the careful guidance of his world-class manager, it was a jarring image to see Salah so forcibly at loggerheads with Klopp and the situation was made even more surreal by the sight of famed firebrand Darwin Nunez acting as peacemaker.
"With Klopp now into his final weeks ahead of Arne Slot’s appointment and a major question hanging over Salah’s next move, given he has close to just 12 months left on his contract, it was, sadly, a crystallising moment of how this is all coming to a close under the current boss."
