Michael Owen has voiced his opinion that, come next season - with Liverpool set to defend the title - only two clubs will genuinely be in contention for Premier League glory under the stewardship of Arne Slot.
Just last weekend, Liverpool clinched the 2024/25 crown in style by thrashing Tottenham at Anfield, despite subsequently losing to Chelsea in their next top-flight match.
Following the season's final game against Crystal Palace, Anfield will witness Virgil van Dijk hoisting the Premier League trophy aloft.
On May 26, the Liverpool squad will celebrate the victory with their supporters on an open-top bus ride through the city streets.
However, former Reds' star Owen is advocating for minimal squad changes next term, even though Slot appears eager to make a couple of tweaks to his group this summer.

"So you have to be careful with the balance of your squad.
"It's a careful balance...
Liverpool have got it spot on at the moment [in terms of squad depth], so we'll see what happens [this summer]."
Regarding the title race, Owen has dismissed the chances of Manchester City making a comeback.
Currently, Guardiola's team trail Arsenal by only three points, yet there's a substantial 15-point divide separating Liverpool from the second-placed team.
"I can't see anybody beating Liverpool next year," he commented further.
"Manchester City are miles off it.
