Mikel Arteta has some difficult team selection decisions to make ahead of the crunch Premier League clash with Manchester City on Sunday.

The Arsenal manager will need to get the balance right against Manchester City and Arteta has been urged to start Eberechi Eze in the number 10 role after his wonderful display against Nottingham Forest.

One cause for concern for the superstitious fans out there is the referee picked to officiate Arsenal vs Manchester City, but based on form, the Gunners have little to worry about.

That is, unless Arteta gets his team wrong with one major decision set to be made.

Before Arsenal’s 3-0 win over Nottingham Forest, Mikel Arteta briefed the media that William Saliba had made a return to training.

The manager told the press: “Willy trained today so we’ll have a decision to make whether we play him or not, very good news.”

Ultimately, 21-year-old Cristhian Mosquera got the nod and delivered another mature, confident and borderline faultless performance.

Now, with Saliba likely to get the nod over the Colombian, it’s fair to say it’s brutal for a player who has been faultless in his fledgling Arsenal career.

The best thing about Mosquera’s time at Arsenal so far is that he seems to have no discernible weakness in his game.

Of course, the Premier League has a habit of humbling up-and-coming stars, but the former Valencia star seems to be the real deal.

Arsenal defender Jurrien Timber has spoken about how impressive the young Mosquera is, and although he has very tough competition, he will get plenty of minutes with the number of tournaments the Gunners are challenging in.

“He has done amazing, especially when he is still so young,” said Timber.

I think he has a bright future ahead as well.”

While it would be a shame to see Mosquera dropped, it would be unsurprising to see him resume his place on the bench, at least temporarily, when Man City visit the Emirates Stadium on Sunday evening.
