Liverpool have had some of the finest talent in history, but debates always rage on with other Premier League stars about who is the best.
Fans and pundits alike love to pit players from the Reds up against those from football history, or even make comparisons from their era of playing.
One of the most famous is the argument surrounding the best English midfielder of all time, featuring Liverpool great Steven Gerrard, Frank Lampard, and Paul Scholes.
Those from the club’s illustrious history, including Rafa Benitez, have revealed why Gerrard was better than Lampard and Scholes for his ability to do everything on the pitch.

But these conversations are not reserved for legends of the past; they are also used for stars who are still etching their name into the fabric of the club’s tapestry.
One that has been a hot topic in football circles on social media is the long-running talking point of who was better in the Premier League: Mohamed Salah or Eden Hazard.
While Hazard began his career with the Chelsea side in 2012, Salah began his tenure at Anfield six years later and made an instant impact.
Some like to use the ‘eye test’ in this conversation to try and disregard the ‘Egyptian King’, but no matter where you look, no one can deny he passes all the variables to make him one of the best of all time.

Mikkel Damsgaard is one of those who had the choice between the two on a TikTok posted by the PFA.
While a tough choice for the Dane, he had to choose the Reds’ favourite.
He smiled: “Oh that is a big conversation in the locker room, as well, longevity Mo Salah.

“It’s hard to take away from him, so I’ll probably go with him, but for me Hazard also is just so good and does some things you don’t always see in the stats, but I’m picking Mo Salah.”
Whilst it may be true that the Belgian did things the stats do not see, the statistics for both men’s first seasons really settle the debate.
In Mo’s first two seasons, he scored and assisted 95 times for the club compared to his counterpart in Blue, who managed 61 goals and assists.
While Hazard won the Europa League in his first two seasons, Salah helped the club to a historic sixth Champions League title.
It may feel redundant to point out these numbers in a debate that should have been over by now, but it highlights the impact the Egyptian had on the side as soon as he arrived and continues to have to this very day.
