Liverpool midfielder James Milner sent an inspiring message to a nine-year-old running 30 miles in honour of his uncle who took his own life in 2018.

He's running 30 miles over a 10-day period and has so far raised almost £2,500 so far and throughout the challenge, Jordan has been eager to raise more awareness through his Liverpool heroes.

"I think running a marathon is an incredible feat, and it's difficult with people doing it with legs a lot bigger than yours, but to do 30 miles is incredible.

Jordan Banks, who gets called "mini-Milner" due to his determination in life and on the football pitch, decided to take on the challenge because his uncle Reece would have turned 30 this year.

The Blackpool schoolboy is raising money for the 'Counselling in the Community' service in his area - a hub that supports people with a range of issues such as anxiety, depression, PTSD and substance misuse.

I've heard that you're doing an amazing thing in raising funds for counselling in honour of your uncle Reece.

After learning about the youngster's efforts, the ECHO's sister paper LancsLive contaced the Reds to see if they could arrange something to help Jordan and it was Milner who sent back a wonderful recorded message.
