Bournemouth are reportedly determined to reject Liverpool’s first bid for transfer target Milos Kerkez.
So much has been written about Liverpool’s interest in Kerkez that almost every football person out there knows by now that the Hungarian is Anfield-bound.
The Reds’ busy summer transfer window has kicked into full gear even before the window officially opened for them.
Jeremie Frimpong has already walked through the AXA Training Center doors and Kerkez and Florian Wirtz are expected to follow in the coming days.
Kerkez has already agreed personal terms with Liverpool, and the Reds are poised to submit a formal bid for him in the coming days.
However, according to the latest report by The iPaper, Liverpool’s first bid will be rejected by Bournemouth.
According to the report, Bournemouth want £45m for Kerkez, who Liverpool see as a a player that can provide competition for Andy Robertson.
The Cherries are said to be determined to get what they believe is market value for the 21-year-old.
The iPaper has revealed that Bournemouth are braced for Liverpool’s first bid and are prepared to reject it as it is expected to fall behind their valuation of the player.
“Despite feverish speculation over the last couple of weeks, no bid has yet been tabled and it is anticipated that Liverpool’s first offer will come in lower than Bournemouth’s asking price,” the report said.
“A deal with achievable add-ons is a possible compromise but, having sold Dean Huijsen to Real Madrid for £50m, there is no pressure on Bournemouth to sell on the cheap.”
The report also added that Kerkez’s desire to join Liverpool made Manchester City abandon their pursuit of him for Wolves’ left back Rayan Ait-Nouri.
