Milos Kerkez has been linked with a move to the Premier League champions for some time now.
Liverpool have already wrapped up the signing of right-back Jeremie Frimpong from Bayer Leverkusen, and are eager to continue their transfer activity, with a deal being struck for Kerkez edging ever closer.
The latest news is that Milos Kerkez has a full agreement on personal terms with the club and that it is down to a number of small details that need clarifying.
Liverpool are in direct contact with Bournemouth and talks continue to get a deal done for the Cherries defender.
Speaking to MLSZ TV, Kerkez has addressed the rumours linking him to some of the Premier League’s biggest clubs this summer including Liverpool.
“Of course something always leaks into the news.
At the same time, I think it is normal that if you play well and the team does well, then you get into the news and end up on the front page, and everyone talks about you.”
“I see this as fuel that drives me forward.
All this doesn’t break me, but it doesn’t boost my ego either, but it teaches me humility and motivates me.”
A mindset that will suit Liverpool, as the team is made up of people who appreciate collectiveness and not individuality.
Kerkez also opened up on his close relationship with current Liverpool midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai.
“We are still very close, we write to each other or call each other every other day, we talk about many things.
When you call him, he answers and doesn’t put his mobile on silent.”
The young Hungarian left-back will be hoping that his fellow countryman can put a good word in for him to help a move to Liverpool be completed.
Milos Kerkez has been a standout player for Bournemouth this season, as he played a key role in the club securing their best ever points tally in a Premier League season.
He is currently Liverpool’s top target in the left-back position, and the ideal long-term successor to the ageing Andy Robertson.
